In 2011, during the period when mass sports participation was still in its infancy, Anon Adrojananon a.k.a. Deer saw the need to educate those living an active lifestyle on the need for proper sports nutrition.
Armed with a Bachelor of Science (Food Technology) from Chulalongkorn University and a Graduate Diplomate in Biomedical Science and a Master of Nutrition and Dietetics from University of Wollonggong, Australia, Deer progressed to be a registered dietitian in Australian and Thailand.
He also worked with the Sports Science Centre at Sports Authority of Thailand for more than 10 years, giving nutrition advice to the Thai national teams in various sports.
Deer observed that:-
- many of the sports gel brands in Thailand were imported
- the local brands did not offer any newness
- many brands contain caffeine, which can have side effects with prolonged use.
Deer saw the above factors as a challenge and an opportunity to disrupt the local market with a homegrown brand. Thus, Dever Energy Gel was born.

To have a winning formula, a team of dietitians, food technologists, sport scientists and Thai national athletes was formed.
